Since 2004 We Run San Antonio has training thousands of runners to reach their goals. Whether it be a 5k or Ultra Marathon we will help you get there well training and injury free. Our programs are flexible and can be pace based and/or heart rate based. Join the team that will help you be the best runner you can be! Your options include a formalized plan that takes you through your event or a customized week to week plan that progresses as you progress.

The program is designed specifically to meet your needs. Upon registration your coach will schedule a time to meet, set goals, and build a plan. Your plan gets updated on a weekly basis and will include workouts based on your fitness level. The workouts will include long runs, short runs, interval work, and tempo runs.

Running Form Assessment
Need help with your running mechanics? We don't need fancy equipment to get you to your ideal running form. We will spend some time running and learning about the basics. Over a 4-6 week period we will meet 3 times to study your form, apply strength and flexibility where needed, and track progress. The assessment also includes recommendations on running shoes to make sure your shoes don't hinder your progress.

San Antonio Rock'n'Roll Marathon and Half Marathon Training Program
Training Begins August 05/06, 2017
We've partnered with San Antonio Running Company to prepare you for the 10th anniversary of the San Antonio Rock 'n' Roll ! We'll prepare you for the 10K, Half Marathon or Marathon on December 02/03, 2017.
Take the traditional training program, and mix it with a healthy dose of fun, education and a few surprises, and you get the best run training program in San Antonio. The perfect way to train you for the San Antonio Rock 'n' Roll 10K, Half Marathon or Marathon.
Led by experienced running coaches, this clinic is unlike any other in San Antonio - we’ll help you meet your running goals, but we’ll also throw in a few surprises along the way, which will guarantee you’ll want to come back every week. The training program will be 18 weeks of workouts, focusing on tempo and speedwork, the art of long runs, and the importance of general and race day nutrition.
The training program will make the lead up to the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon the most fun you’ve ever had training for a race.
Training and group runs will be available on various dates and locations (Downtown & North) for your convenience.
Your registration includes:
18 weeks of coached training by experienced running coaches from Aug 05/06 - Dec. 02/03
One workout every Tuesday (Downtown) or Wednesday (North) at 6pm, varying depending on the workout, with a detailed schedule made available after registration, and as the weeks roll out
A surprise pre/post-workout activity each week with a local partner you know and love
Weekly training plan to take home and complete outside of coached sessions

Training Program FAQ's
Q. Can I switch between the Downtown and North locations during the program?
A. Yes, once you pick your "Home Base" you can participate in any of the scheduled weekly runs and training sessions with either the Downtown or North running groups for your convenience.
Q. Will there be workouts to do between coached sessions?
A. Yes, each week after you have completed your coached session you will receive the next 6 days of your training in order to be well and ready for the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon.
Q. Where will the workouts meet?
A. Most of the Downtown group workouts will leave from San Antonio Running Company 711 S. St. Mary's St. The North group meeting location will alternate between Friedrich Park and Scenic Loop Cafe.
Q. How long is each session?
A. Times will vary but count on each session taking anywhere from 90-120min including the surprise activity.

Q. What ability is the training program intended for?
A. The training program is meant for runners of all abilities and in place to help you reach your 10K, Half Marathon and Marathon goals.
Q. Should I know anything else at this time?
A. Nope! You'll receive an email from us about one week out so we can gather any additional information we need.
This program will include a tempo/track or strength workout during the week and a long run on the weekend. You will also have the opportunity to participate in additional runs, clinics, yoga and special events.
